Chief C. Edward Kennedy

A native of Glens Falls, C. Edward Kennedy was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy. the son of a city detective, he was named special patrolman in 1930 and earned his badge as a regular policeman three years later. 

He advanced steadily through the ranks, appointed as Sergeant in 1935 and Captain in 1946. He was approved as Chief of the department in 1952. C. Edward Kennedy was active with the State Association of Police Chiefs and was the first President of the Warren County Chapter of Civil Service Employees, formed in 1948.

He was remembered as an excellent policeman and a very cooperative public servant.

At his death, Mayor Milton G. Tibbitts called Chief Kennedy "a perfect gentleman" and the Post-Star hailed his intelligence and conscientiousness "an ideal department head."
